Chief Randy DeAnda has been a police officer for 31 years; 25 years of which have been with the Rialto Police Department.
Chief De Anda possesses a Bachelors Degree in Workforce Education and Development and he is a graduate of the Peace Officer Standards and Training Executive Leadership Command College and the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) Senior Management Institute for Police. He is a member of the California Police Chief’s Association and the San Bernardino County Police Chief’s Association.
Chief De Anda has held assignments to include; Police Captain, Police Lieutenant, Police Sergeant, Police Corporal, Field Training Officer, Gang Detective, Narcotics Investigator, Street Crime Attack Team Officer (SCAT), Department SWAT team member and Department Press Information Officer. While working the SCAT team he was involved in several undercover narcotic sting operations, gang and parole sweeps, search warrants, and other high profile cases involving career criminals. He has testified as an expert in gangs and narcotics and is a member of California Gang Investigators' Association and the California Narcotics Officers' Association.
Chief De Anda has provided leadership and supervision over the Area Command Program and has been involved in several Area Command Projects. These projects include: the first City of Rialto gang injunction, the beautification of Citrus Grove housing complex and other multi-housing developments, nuisance abatements involving Scores Bar, Oakwood Lounge, El Patio Night Club, and medical marijuana dispensaries. Chief De Anda is also involved in many other community events such as Neighborhood Watch, National Night Out, faith-based organizations, and business organizations.
