Captain Andrew Karol
Captain Andrew Karol’s law enforcement career includes over nineteen years of law enforcement experience with the City of Rialto, and as a Desert Storm Veteran, he spent five years active duty with the United States Marine Corps. Captain Karol served overseas with the 12th Marines, and as a member of (SRT) Special Reaction Team.
Captain Karol is a graduate of the Sheriff Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute, Class #217. Captain Karol holds his Bachelor's Degree and State of California teaching credential, which he obtained from California State University Long Beach. Captain Karol will be graduating May 2015 with his Master's in Public Administration from California State University Northridge.
Captain Karol has held a variety of assignments, to include: Field Training Officer (FTO), FTO Coordinator, Gang and Narcotics Investigator, SWAT team member, and SWAT Sniper team leader. Captain Karol has testified as an expert in gangs and narcotics and is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, California Gang Investigators Association, California Peace Officers' Association, and the National Tactical Officers Association. Captain Karol is currently assigned as the Operation’s Bureau Captain, which includes Patrol, IVS SWAT, Investigations, Area Command, K-9s, Animal Control, and School Resource Officers.
