Report a Crime Online

The Rialto Police Department has launched Coplogic’s Desk Officer Online Reporting System. Citizen online police reporting allows the residents of Rialto to file police reports online. By filing a police report online, citizens will not have to wait for an officer to respond and will automatically be sent their police report as an email.

Nextdoor - Virtual Neighborhood Watch!

In an effort to facilitate a virtual Neighborhood Watch program and help foster neighbor-to-neighbor communications, the Rialto Police Department has partnered with Nextdoor, the first private social network for neighborhoods.

What is Nextdoor?:

Nextdoor is free for residents and for the City. Each neighborhood creates its own private Nextdoor website, accessible only to residents of that neighborhood.  Rialto residents can use Nextdoor to get to share information about neighborhood watch issues, local events, and other related activities. We believe a healthier and more engaged city creates stronger communities and Nextdoor can help to do just that.

How Does Nextdoor Work?:

Nextdoor was specifically designed to make neighbors feel comfortable sharing information with one another in order to help build stronger communities.  Neighborhoods establish and self-manage their own Nextdoor website.  Information shared on each Nextdoor site is only visible to members who live in the neighborhood and who have verified their address. We are in the process of mapping the neighborhoods which will range in size from 50 to 250 households.

Privacy:

Information shared on Nextdoor is password protected and cannot be accessed by those outside the neighborhood or found on Google or other search engines.  In addition, Nextdoor never shares personal information with any third parties. Unlike an email listserv or other online group, neighbor posts are organized and archived for future reference.

How Do I Sign Up?:

Those interested in joining their neighborhood’s Nextdoor website can visit www.nextdoor.com and enter their home address. If Nextdoor is already launched in your area you can immediately sign up. If a Nextdoor website has not yet been established for your area we encourage you to become the lead for your neighborhood and get started today.

Additional Information:

If you have questions about the Nextdoor program, or how to get started, please contact Corporal Cameron Nelson at 909-820-2515 or email to This email address is being protected from spambots. LEARN MORE HERE!

The Rialto Police Department has begun utilizing an innovative crime fighting tool that allows citizens to report crimes, code enforcement violations, and city maintenance problems directly to the concerned city agency in real time and receive information on how those problems are resolved on their cell phone, tablet, or computer.

The program, known as “City Sourced” is an app that can be downloaded on most mobile devices. Citizens who spot crime activity, code enforcement violations, or activity requiring City Maintenance attention, can simply take a photo of the activity and send it directly to the concerned agency.

Information that is received is reviewed and the appropriate department will work to resolve the issue. Upon completion, the citizen is sent a response that details how the problem was resolved.

Some key benefits of the City Sourced app program are:

- The removal of guesswork with service requests: the agency can actually see what is being reported.

- Citizens enjoy improved transparency, increased feedback, and efficient delivery of service.

- Allows agencies to increase their productivity while more efficiently using manpower.

Acquiring the City Sourced app is quick and easy. Simply go to your device’s app provider and type in City Sourced to search for the app. When you see the City Sourced app bearing the Rialto P.D. patch, simply download the free app and you are done.
